The Three Drag Tenors is an operatic drag king trio consisting of 3 “tenors”/sopranos — Dick Hunt, Seymour Bush, and Justin Beaver-Hunt. The trio bridges the gap between the long tradition of gender bending in opera and the modern era of drag kings.
Their shows are a synthesis of opera and drag via the format of a live concert going awry. As the tenors’ lives are upended by love, lust, and professional ruin, the audience gets to see the drama unfold in real time as the kings put on a show through the chaos.
Bringing you music sung by professional opera singers that ranges from opera classics to music theater to Sinatra, these concerts bring the audience a potent mixture of high camp, high art, and ridiculousness.
